Garden Design

I specialise in beautiful, flower-filled, wildlife-friendly gardens, tending to be an informal style - a 'country' or 'cottage' garden. I like to work closely with my clients, taking into account the location of the garden and the surrounding landscape in order to create a garden which nestles naturally into the local environment. I like to create gardens that have strong internal divisions, with somewhere to walk and places to sit, relax and enjoy the flowers and wildlife. My gardens inevitably include water in some form and tend to have romantic, yesteryear plantings of favourite garden plants, native wildflowers, evocative shrubs and trees. I also like to use locally-sourced, sustainable materials for hard landscaping, keeping paths and terraces simple and classic.

Typically, after an initial visit to discuss your requirements, I will draw up plans of your garden, together with planting lists and a works timetable. I am also able to supervise any hard landscaping that is necessary and assist with supply of plants and planting.

Consultancy

I am happy to advise on larger-scale projects, from large gardens and smallholdings to entire landscapes, giving advice on ponds, meadows, orchards, hedgerows and woodlands.

I can also undertake 'wildlife audits' drawing up lists of the plants, mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects and other invertebrates to be found on your property, with details of their abundance and rarity status.
